I love photography. Every bit of it. It's an amazing hobby and an excellent way to spend every extra penny you have. I used to think it might be fun to do it for a living, but it seems that everytime you try to make a living at something you enjoy, it stops being fun. So nowadays, I keep it at a mentally healthy "hobby" level.

Digital Photography Sites:

The following are all very useful sites on digicams, with loads of reviews, specifications, news, and discussion forums. If you're looking for some info on todays digicam, you should be able to find it in one of the sites below.

Imaging Resource (www.imaging-resource.com)

Digital Photography Review (www.dpreview.com)

Steve's Digicams (www.steves-digicams.com)

Megapixel.net (www.megapixel.net)

General Photography Sites

Philip Greenspun's Photo.net (www.photo.net/photo)
Probably the most comprehensive website about photography that I've come across. Philip is almost a web legend, what with his new book about RDBMS's and web publishing, as well as the infamous Travels with Samantha travelogue. Also handy is the classifieds section, where you can buy and sell photo gear.

Bengt Hallinger's Photo Pages (www.algonet.se/~bengtha/photo/)
A collection of photographically related links.

Photodo (www.photodo.com)
A european website with lots of great resources for photographic equipment. They've got lens MTF graphs published for something like 600+ lenses, as well as equipment reviews and news.

B & H Photo Video (www.bhphotovideo.com)
The New York mail-order photo store. This store's probably got the best prices in the states for photo gear. They're New Yorkers though, so don't be surprised if they don't give you the time of day. They will, however, gladly take your MC, VISA and American Express.
